Celebrity Judges at Junior Blind Olympics in Malibu

Summer Olympics will be held at Camp Bloomfield in the Malibu mountains.  3,000 visitors are expected to attend.   The camp is located on the Mulholland Highway above Leo Carillo Beach.   It is summer camp for all the partially sighted and blind children in the entire Southwest.   Each child receives two weeks of camping without charge from the Foundation of the Junior Blind.

The 80 campers, aged 11 to 14, have been practicing dances of many nations, water ballet and diving, archery, wrestling, tumbling, baseball and horseback riding.  Today they will be judged in competitive demonstrations.

Actors David Hedison, Carol Christensen, Bob Dowdell and Stephanie Hill are among the judges.

There will also be an arts and crafts exhibition and a dedication of the newly built cabins, hospital and infirmary.  

Visitors are asked to bring their own lunch.
Free soft drinks will be served.
